How do I prepare my property for shoot day?

The property should be clean and organised and reflect the photos provided on the website.

Remove all personal items that you do not want to be interfered with. The bathrooms should be fully stocked with toilet roll and hand soap. The crew should have access to tea/coffee making facilities and drinking water. Bin liners and handcloths should be left out.

How long does a shoot typically last?

A standard shoot day is 9 to 6 but each shoot can require an earlier or later start. There are some shoots that require more than one day but each enquiry will be reviewed with the property owner prior to finalising a booking.

How does SoScout work?

We source & curate a selection of unique properties suitable for shooting & filming and connect the photo/film industry with property owners. We carry an in depth intake process to ensure we cover all grounds of the requirements needed for a shoot enquiry and we advise the property owners on how to prepare for a booking.

We prepare each property with a specification brochure and tailored Terms & Conditions based on each property owner's terms.

What’s the fee?

There is no sign up fee. When a booking is secured there is a 4% processing fee.

How much can I earn from a shoot?

Depending on the property and the nature of the shoot it can be anywhere from €600 to €2K per day, based on a standard day of 9-5.

I have a cool property, what are my next steps?

I don’t have professional photos, what do I do?

We have a photographer we can send around for a shoot to get you up and running.

Once you fill in the property submission form we can send you the details for the photographer.

I’m interested in signing up but I work from home, is it possible to be present in the property during a shoot?

Absolutely, in fact we recommend that the property owner remain present if possible. Working from home is ideal.

I am interested in signing up but I only want some areas of my home available.

That is no problem, most shoots only require certain areas for a shoot. It will all be stipulated in our terms and conditions.

What’s the setup process?

Once your property has been selected, we will send you an intake form, say hello, and take you through an onboarding process. We will take you through all the T&Cs, the fees you will charge for a shoot, rules for your house and how to set up.

Who are you?

We are a team of interior designers with a passion for interesting spaces with over 35 years experience working in the field of both commercial and residential spaces both in Ireland and the UK.

What happens if a booking is cancelled?

All booking agents and home owners have the right to cancel a booking. We urge as much notice as possible. Any bookings cancelled within 48 hours of the shoot day will incur some charges.

The property owner will be charged the processing fee of 4% of whatever the agreed booking fee was. Any cancellation made by the booking agent will incur a fee a percentage of which will go to the property owner.

What happens if there are damages made to the property or items within the property?

All booking agents are required to have insurance and will be responsible for any damages incurred by them. This will be included in each property owners T&Cs and contract.

Do I pay tax?

SoScout will charge VAT for services for each booking but it is up to each property owner to review their personal tax requirements.

How and when do I receive the payment for my booking

SoScout will pay out the fees due to each property owner on the last Friday of each month directly in to the account details provided by the property owner.

I don’t have professional photos, what do I do?

We have a photographer we can send around for a shoot to get you up and running.

What is SoScout?

SoScout is Ireland’s only shoot location platform connecting unique and interesting properties with brands for film and photography shoots.

What do SoScout do?

We seek out properties that we believe can provide perfect locations for the film and photography industry.

We carry out in-depth reviews of the spaces and prepare detailed specification sheets of each.

We understand the requirements and needs of producers, brands and photographers. We see the potential and we guide the property owners to understand the process of the industry.

How can a property be booked?

We have a general enquiry form where you can find out more about all our properties or get our help selecting the right property for your needs - alternatively you can contact us at hello@soscout.com.

What is the cancellation policy?

All bookings can be cancelled up to 48 hours prior to shoot day and will be refunded. The booking fee is non-refundable.

What are the rates?

Rates are dependent on the nature of the shoot, size of crew and hours required.

A rate can only be provided on receipt of an enquiry form.

I’d like to know the rates of some of the properties but I do not have dates yet.
