Description:
Woodbrook house was originally built in 1775. On the exterior, the building is of a simple square layout, but it has good embellishments like the classical chimneys, the over-sailing roof, and the temple style plasterwork around the front door. The inside is spacious and welcoming. There are tripartite Wyatt windows on all three floors (and on three sides), so the interiors have an abundance of light as well as wonderful views across the parkland and towards the Blackstairs Mountains. The ceilings of the main rooms are exceptionally high and very generously proportioned; the drawing room, for example, is forty foot long with inlaid doors and elegant ceiling plasterwork. One of its defining features is its remarkable ‘flying’ staircase which spirals up the double-height hall from ground to first floor. This is the only staircase of its kind in Ireland. The grounds are sprawling and peaceful, they include forest, farmland, 19th century farmyard buildings and a historic walled garden.

- Movement of Items: Re-arranging of small objects and furniture is permitted, please work with either a representative on site or pre-arrange with us for any large furniture moves or artwork / photography moves. All moves will need approval from the property owner, so please arrange in advance.
- Any Other House Rules: No more than 5 people at a time on the main spiral staircase. If equipment is being taking up to the first floor we request that the back staircase is used rather than main spiral staircase.
